Japan is famous for its many traditional dishes that are both delicious and healthy. Miso soup, Natto beans, Tsukemono pickles, and Umeboshi pickled plums are four representative Japanese dishes that are not only nutritious but also bring many benefits to the body.

Miso Soup

Miso soup is a typical Japanese soup made by dissolving Miso paste in Dashi broth. Miso paste is made from rice, barley, beans, etc., providing a lot of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. It is a light, easy-to-digest dish that helps balance blood sugar and supports heart health.

Natto Beans

Natto beans are made from soybeans that have been thoroughly cooked and fermented with natto bacteria, resulting in a highly sticky dish with a distinctive smell. Natto beans have many uses, especially helping to thin the blood and improve intestinal health.

Tsukemono Pickles

Tsukemono pickles are a dish made by pickling vegetables with salt, miso paste or sake lees, etc. Each family has its own flavor, and it is an indispensable dish on the Japanese dining table. Tsukemono pickles help improve the intestinal environment thanks to the effects of lactic acid bacteria, and also prevent aging thanks to the polyphenols they contain.

Umeboshi Pickled Plum

Umeboshi are plums that have been salted and then dried. Perilla leaves are often used to add color to the plums to give them a beautiful red color. Umeboshi contains a lot of citric acid, which is not only good for beauty but also helps to recover from fatigue and improve the intestinal environment.
